The Glow Up Initiative
The GLOW UP Initiative is a program under A Mother’s Love designed to help youth elevate confidently into adulthood while looking and feeling their best. Through this program, we assist youth with obtaining a government-issued ID card or driver’s license, provide transportation for job searches, job interviews, and to and from work, removing barriers that often prevent young people from taking their next steps. We also offer free hairstyles and haircuts to ensure participants can show up looking and feeling confident. The GLOW UP Initiative empowers youth to embrace who they are, understand the importance of presentation and self-respect, and gain practical skills that help them shine from the inside out as they transition into adulthood.
ID Me
We provide the funds for youth to obtain their permit, driver’s license, or state ID card. Most employers require a government-issued ID upon employment, and we understand that many parents may not have the funds to cover these costs when their child is ready to work. ID Me helps remove this barrier, ensuring youth can take the next step toward employment, independence, and adulthood with confidence.
Braids and Fades
Our Braids and Fades service under The GLOW UP Initiative, provides free hairstyles and haircuts, to help youth look good and feel confident as they step into opportunities. Whether preparing for a job interview, the first day of work, or simply wanting to feel fresh, Braids and Fades ensures youth can show up with pride and readiness for their future.
Ride to Thrive
Through our Ride to Thrive service under The GLOW UP Initiative, we provide free transportation for youth to search for jobs, attend interviews, and get to and from work. We understand that transportation can be a barrier for many young people eager to step into employment and independence, and Ride to Thrive ensures they have reliable support to pursue opportunities and build a brighter future.
